sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p><strong>De grot in Jette, een exacte replica van die in Lourdes, trekt het hele jaar door ook talrijke gelovigen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over heel Europa werden in het begin van de twintigste eeuw replica\u2019s van de Lourdesgrot gebouwd, ook in Brussel. De bekendste is die van Jette, waar de kerk van de Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van Lourdesparochie in 1913 werd opgetrokken. <\/p>\n<p>Twee jaar later \u2013 in volle eerste wereldoorlog \u2013 werd de grot gebouwd om voor de soldaten te kunnen bidden. Bij de inwijding op 15 augustus 1915 door Kardinaal Mercier waren 20.000 gelovigen aanwezig.<\/p>\n<p>De grot is een replica van die in Lourdes. Onder het Mariabeeld ligt overigens een steen uit de echte grot. Het altaar was een geschenk van koning Albert I. In het ruime, groene plantsoen eromheen staan kapelletjes met de vijftien staties van de kruisweg. Boven dit alles torent Christus er boven uit aan een 6 meter hoog kruis.<\/p>\n<p>Dit oord van rust trekt vooral in de meimaand en tijdens de Mariahulde van 13 tot 15 augustus veel volk. De hoofdingang van de Lourdesgrot in Jette bevindt zich in de Leopold I-straat. De kerk en het domein zijn op weekdagen toegankelijk van 9u tot 16u.
