De kunstenaar woonde op de benedenverdieping van dit huis gedurende zijn meest vruchtbare surrealistische periode, van 1930 tot 1954. Hij verliet het op 55-jarige leeftijd toen hij een internationale beroemdheid verwierf. Dit huis werd daarna aangekocht en gerestaureerd in de jaren &#8217;90 door een gepassioneerde van de kunst. Het museum is sinds 1999 voor het publiek geopend. Het bezoek is tweeledig: op het gelijkvloers bevindt zich het appartement van Magritte, dat bijna uitsluitend met de oorspronkelijke meubels gereconstrueerd werd, en op de verdiepingen een biografische tentoonstelling die aan de schilder gewijd is.<\/p>\n<p>Als u het Ren\u00e9 Magritte Museum bezoekt, heeft u ook meteen toegang tot het Museum voor Abstracte Kunst.<\/p>\n<p>Woont u in Jette ?
